Tenshi Na Konomaki... Love story, Definatly comedic, and non stop brutal action...
(also known as Cheeky Angel)

f

If i have the next episode to watch already, I dont like to watch the preview of the next episode... unless they are done rather humerously.

However, when watching anime that is still being fan subbed, or im on the last episode of that dvd release and am patiently waiting for the next dvd, i will NOT miss any lill tidbit about where the plot is going.

f

Akira, Definatly strange.

the one i could never finish because it was so disturbing ... was Vampire Princess Miu....

I felt so bad for all the victoms of the demons who escaped... and the vampire princess never did anything to help the poor humans that were innocent victoms. Like the forrest of Manicans, or all the animals that were once humans. I didnt see many episodes after that.

f

Flamehaze first sub was HORRID... but their second sub really improved ALOT..... i would be un-afraid to download them in the future.... Still get all the Eclipse episodes :P Shana Rocks.

f

Personally I liked you're under arrest. Although long winded at times, and some episodes didnt really go anywhere, it certainly had good story lines in several places. It was fresh compaired to so many cookie cutter anime types out there. Namly Big robots that only children can pilot, or harem type anime, or magical girl. For something compleetly different, yet still good to watch, its a good steady paced anime with quite a few suspenceful action scenes and wonderful comedy. Like the episode where one of our girl's gets her drivers licence. I couldnt help but smile :D

Granted it is long, and sometimes boring, it is still worth watching.

Totally... agree there, ....

it all depends on the source material... period.... end of story...

In my oppinion the best way to tell what resolution you should scan at, is at what point can you see the individual print dots. Once you make the individual print dots the right size, you only make things worse when you scan larger. around 150dpi for newspaper print, around300 for magazines, and around 600 for art books, for expensive artbooks i go between 600-1200 dip.

The point is, if you go stupidly high, your scanner will scan one little ink dot to cover a stupid size of say 50 pixels on the screen at 1:1, At this point its rather silly because your not getting sharper images, your just wasting space.

a good rule of thumb is.... make 1 print dot cover 2-4 pixles, at that point, you can do your best image manipulation, cleaning, removing of scratches, removing text, etc....

when your done, use your gausian blur, smart blur's and any other filters you want to throw at it, and you will have amazing results.

When it comes to actually scanning photographs, and negatives, ... there is no limit,

i once scanned a 1 inch by 2 inch black and white photo from the 40's for a guy who wanted to see what a scanner was capable of, I asked him if he had any wallet photos... he said he did, and handed me this folded picture of a white triangle with a black background, and it had blue hand writeing on it that had blead from a peice of paper onto it.

scanning it in at 2300 dpi, i was able to not only turn the white triangle into his wife in her wedding gown, i was able to remove the fold, clean up all the little scratches, remove the blue ink by just keeping the red layer, and turn the black background into the wedding hall where he got married... printed it out 8½ by 11 on a laser jet printer... and it looked like the photo was taken yesterday.

So once again, ... it all depends on your source material.

Hello
When you are in a restarunt, remember to always leave a tip: My tip to leave is:
You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose.

Hey all.... Just sayin hi.... I recently moved to seattle and Sofar i love it.

I am planning on atending the anime-con that is coming to seattle in feb, It will be awesome! If you read Fanfiction.net you might recognize my name. yep, its me, same person...

Anyway... if your into fanfiction, check out my story, if not, then don't bother.

I can't do anything like list my favorite anime, or anything like that, cause... I LOVE NEARLY EVERYTHING

even things i dont love, i like because it has good points.
There are few anime that i hate.... Anything that degrades humans, or corrupts innocence (vampire princess mieu) and i have disliked nearly every single hentai anime i have ever seen (not very many but i did think that goldenboy was funny so i cant say i hate EVERY hentai)

Anyway, just a lill messaage about me.

See ya :D

Are we talking about exposing new people to "classics" or classics that spawned anime as we know it today.

Battleship Yammoto = classic I cant really get into this, cause of its style, my friend who likes old things loves this series and has begged me to watch it....

Urusei Yatsura = Classic that helped mold what we see today. Want to debate this? Think of the earliest "Harem" anime, that spawned an entire genera...

Think about how many great series followed the example of Urusei Yatsura but just adding more characters than its predicesors.
You have Ranma½, Tenchi, Love Hina, and many many more. Now days there are even more anime that have more harem action... like that maid one where the boy inherits a house of 2000 maids who want to do nothing but "serve him"

Tenchi = Modern Classic imho.... it spawned a more modern look to anime, its much cleaner and artistic compaired to earlier anime of the time.

However if you were to "introduce" anime to people, i think you really have to be careful and not show them something that is too.... deep... wierd, or disturbing

I can't tell you the number of people i have met at an anime con (or that i have converted into being anime fans) and their first dreadful experience with anime was Akira.... they hated it because it was disturbing and wierd, with a giant bloated explodeing baby. Gross!!! There are a few people that LOVE akira the first time they see it... but these people are few and far between.

i say the best way to convert someone to anime, is show them a Good Solid anime, one with likeable characters, No bizzar distorted gross things...

Sofar i have successfully converted over a dozen friends to anime, by showing them

Last Exile,
Tenchi
Nadesco
Cowboy Bebop
Noir
Love Hina
Pilot candidate
Bleach
Naruto
Hana Yuri Dango (for romantics)

Feature films:
Ghost in the shell
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
The Cat Returns
Wind Named Amnesia
Castle in the Sky

Anyway, there is something for everthing.... please know the person your exposing to anime, don't just assume that everyone will love akira :D (I HATE Akira)

f

I vote for Neko-chan or just Neko once you become more familiar with him :D it could be a conversation starter.

A old neighbor of mine her dog was named "kitty" one day it ran away, and i was helping her find it..... people must have thought i was nuts looking for a lill black terrier calling out "here kitty"

f

Every person is different, Some people like many of the anime listed here.... others just hate it. I personally hate akira.

i also hated Vampire Princess Mieu... Every episode i felt bad for the people hurt by the monsters in that world..... after watching 16 episodes of poor helpless humans that have been hurt/transformed/worse by demons and such.... she does nothing to help them.

I am also NOT a gundam fan. but some showes have their merit. Evangelion is ok as long as you stop watching around ep 15..

Escaflowne was ... ok, but i really hated peoples noses and ears in it... .it was creepy

_.,-'^'-,.__.,-'^'-,.__.,-'^'-,.__.,-'^'-,.__.,-'^'-,._(...) exposing several of my friends to japanese anime, i must say that the absolute worst anime to "introduce" people to the anime world is AKIRA...

Granted akira has some cool stuff in it, i am not belitteling akira fans here... but akira leaves 90% of the normal population that might actually like anime scratching their heads and saying what the CRAP did i just watch? .. Everyone loves a giant bloated fat baby.... NOT

You have to start them off with something that they will like Card Captor Sakura or LastExile, TenchiMuyo, CowboyBebop, Full metal panic, etc etc....

i can't tell you the number of times ive heard someone say "The first show I ever watched was Akira and I thought it was really wierd, I didn't see any other anime for 10 years till a friend showed me _____... then i turned into a huge anime fan"

Anyway, for you wierd akira fans out there... please DO NOT force akira on the common person.... you may turn them into an ANTI-Anime person... Scarring them for life.

f

Its Tenchi Muyo GXP (galaxy police). I wouldnt think there would be anything to be "cut"

f

its been a while since ive seen my hime, is that the charicter that was pretending to be a boy? kinda looks like him. like i said its been a long time since ive seen my hime, so i cant tell for sure

f

Ive been out of money for a long time, and now i have money coming in, so i decided to finish off my GXP collection of dvds... and come to find out there are "un-cut" releases of the same dvds that i already own.

I would like to know what is different. Does anyone know?

I checked all the usual anime dvd pages i could find, but none of them had any info on what i wanted to know.

Can anyone help me figure it out ? Please please ?

f

Oh i might also say one thing..... if you have 12mega pixle camera..... and are taking 1024x768 images... you can digital zoom to 12x and your still within the 1:1 pixle per pixel on the digital optical reciever and loose ZERO picture quality (thats some of the reasons people are paying a small fortune for 12mpx cameras....

My personal camer is a Cannon Cybershot (or is it power shot.... i loaned it to my cous)
4MPX camera. its awesome....

Another thing about digital cameras, is of course storage..... 4 megapixles is about 2.2 megs per picture at the highest quality... you can start reducing the megs/image by reducing quality... etc.

i chose cannon camera because it accepted type 2 memory cards... which means that i can add a "micro-drive" to my camera, they come in 1, 2 , 4gig sizes and more. (i think, i havent shopped for them for a long time)
What this means is while most people are worried about storage, im still clicking away happily. With my 1 gig cartridge in, i can take over 490 ultra high quality 4mpx pictures (2200xwhatever) by reducing it to 1600x1200 pictures, i can take over 1200 pictures!!
the only downside to micro drives is a slight extra drain on the batteries and its also slower saving when you take pictures... so unless your trying to be a paparatzi (spelling) this isnt ever a problem. And if you are, you can always swap in the memory sticks instead of the microdrive. My cousin borrowed my camera on their first trip to london, they took over 2000 pictures of everything they saw there. (he downloaded bunches each night onto his computer)
good luck finding a camera for you

f

Optical zoom represents what the camera lenses can do (as like a normal camera focusing on film) Digital zoom represents, fixing it so the actual pixles on the camera "film" are zoomed.... in effect... like zooming in on a picture you downloaded ...except with a nicer resolution, because the pixles are interpolated.... ABC the color A represents pixle 1, C represents Pixle 2, and B represents the virutal "digital Zoom" pixle. thereby making a 3rd pixle..... this can remove some of the quality of the pcture but really the digital zoom is actually quite impressive due to the WAY it zooms in.... however you dont really want to rely heavily on it using mostly optical zoom..... if your going digitalzoom 12x... your really making the picture blocky.... so your making it like AbcdefghijkL and the only REAL pixle is A and L (although this is a VERY OVER simplified and not entirely 100% exact, it does simplify basically what digital zoom is all about) .... although i doubt its entirely proper to provide links in this forum... the most helpful and awesome pages i have ever seen about digital cameras is (remove the spaces of course) www . imaging - resource . net (yes keep the .-. )

f

sad really, all those people uploading, and none of the uploads working. meaning, that the last 50 - 100 uploads people have made, may need to be re-uploaded :(
